You feel like you are in the middle of enthusiastic passionate craftsmanship, where their space is purpose built to create craft beer. Food ok, had fish and chips but the beer amazing. The stout oozing with roasted perfection. Can't wait to go back.
We had an impromptu craving for an English pub atmosphere w/ sausage and mash. Strange location. Should have been wise to that. Drinks were great, lovely cold cider and craft beers. Food - limited menu. Thought we would stick to the basics, sausage and mash and a burger. Mash was deb but cold, watery and tasteless. The gravy was totally inedible. Absolutely no idea how it was made but I'd rather not know. Burger had a bun from last week. Hard as a rock. Sent everything back and left. Venture out to Braddon for something decent to eat
After a hard day slaving over a meeting room table, there's little better than a wind down and a yarn over a glass of decent beer. If you like decent beer (ie you hate VB and XXXX), try the Wig and Pen. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
We have always stopped into the Wig & Pen for a few British style beers when in Canberra and were very happy that it has found a new home.We were there on a Sunday afternoon and although the place was very quiet the beers were still amazing.
This restaurant is part the Llewellyn Hall complex has a big comfortable indoor area and a good outdoor area for drinking. They have a great range of craft beers, and a good modern pub menu. The patrons are mainly young Uni students and the place is a lot of fun.
