Blue Bengal - Sutton

After a lovely Sunday afternoon watching club cricket in Banstead, we stopped here at about 8.45 pm on our way home to West Norwood and what a treat! Warm, courteous welcome. Plump, juicy prawns in a mango sauce, and tender lamb with citrus flavours in a concentrated sauce. Sag paneer is a favourite of ours in this version, the spinach was chopped rather than mashed, a cut above the usual. Flavour counts more than volume here good! The ambience is cosy with modern paintings and music that's quiet enough although we'd prefer Indian to pop. We'll be back.

Nasty rude staff. Bullying clientele into making an order due to the kitchen closing. Sub standard food. Don’t bother.

Great place to eat with friends. Restaurant staff very friendly. Food piping hot. Limited menu to other local restaurants but still good selection. No rush to order. My only complaint is the paper menus that double up as place mat. I found annoying when trying to select food, whilst eating poppadoms. This would not stop me eating there. We also had a take away few weeks after our visit and that was nice too.

This is a great curry house. We got there half an hour before our booking as we were in the area and it was no problem at all for them to move some tables and seat us, despite it being busy. I always get my parter to order for us as I really like a spicy curry and don't want them to tone it down and they didn't disappoint. The meal was delicious and very good value. Thr staff were lovely too. At the end, they gave us a tub of vindaloo starter sauce to take home and whole handful of chocolates because I said I liked them. Can't fault this place!

Great food, really helpful staff. Nice atmosphere. Gets really busy so you have to book in advance Highly recommend.
