After Sunday afternoon's lunch, which ended up being an early dinner, I'm not sure when my next visit to Olive Garden will be. I had not eaten there in years. I ordered the same dish I ordered from my last visit. I should have ordered something different when she told me then ran out of mushrooms. It went downhill from there. Our meal took a very, very long time. Which was strange, because they really weren't that busy. My meal wasn't working for me. I asked for no bacon in the sauce, they bring me extra sauce with the veggies they forgot to add. It has bacon in it!! The server offered to bring me a different meal, but that's such a big huge deal, and time wasted. I had filled up on salad. Everyone else enjoyed their meals. It just took so long. Maybe I will wait awhile before I go back.
We had an amazing experience at this Olive Garden location. Our hostess, Jane, was so kind and helped us to our table instantly. She even took a family picture for us on the way out! Our server, Monte, was a gem! I loved how attentive and friendly he was. The food was absolutely wonderful. If you haven?t tried it yet, order the zuppa toscana!
The food is always great! I was working (supervising a visit with a son and father), we planned on spending two hours there. The waitress literally asked if we wanted boxes while we were eating. Felt as if she was pushing us out and we had only been there for 45 minutes! I finally had stop here when she asked if we wanted to go drinks !! It was not super busy, there were not people waiting to be seated. I 'm not sure why she was do pushy however it made for a very uncomfortable experience. Had the waitress not pushed us out, I would have given 5 stars. Olive Garde. Simply needs to do better with their hospitality..... Update I was actually contacted by Olive Garden and given an apology. I was very grateful that they took ownership, apologized and asked what they could work on to fix the issue! That says a lot about an establishment. I will be going back and know that the needed changes will be seen. They took it ad an opportunity to learn and grow from it. Way too go Olive Garden!! My 3 star review is now a 5 star review!
Monty was our server. Our family had just come from a king tut exhibit in N. Scottsdale, tired family and my daughter and I had cleopatra makeup on and he wasn 't even phased just friendly and kind. Even though the tables were full with a slight wait Monty kept our glasses full and our breadsticks hot! Great server with a friendly personality. My son has Celiac disease so there are very few places he can eat. When we mentioned this to Monty, he offered to bring a sample of the olive garden gluten free soup! My son was ecstatic to try something new!!! He was able to have salad (no croutons) and the grilled salmon/Broccoli option, and tasted the soup! Rarely is he able to participate in eating anything other than his gf entree . It was such a good meal, my son even commented the staff here are great! Which is weird for an 11 year old! I had the 5 cheese shells with chicken, my daughter had the shrimp fettuccine and my husband had the batter friend shrimp appetizer (I can 't remember the name) and ALL were cooked perfectly. We will be back (with less thematic makeup). Picture of already half eaten grilled salmon (gf).
It was a super busy Sunday evening. It would have been a very long wait for a booth so we accepted table seating. Unfortunately it was right in the middle of the floor and in the line of both customer and server traffic. There were too many tables crammed into the space. Twice I was cheek to (cheek? with the server for the next table. Since he had so many tables to take care of, our server was stretched pretty thin. A few times we couldn't flag him down. Overall he did a really good job. He explained the specials and suggested the ideal meal for me. He only offered alcohol and when we declined and started off with water he never offered an alternative. The food was pretty good except my meat sauce was very watery. Also, the meatballs could have used more seasoning. However, I appreciated that they weren't too spicey. One person in the party had ravioli and loved it. Another person went the healthy route with a salad, fish, and broccoli along with some very aromatic coffee. The bill was roughly $75 with tip because only one person got a drink.
