Amuse Bouche - Surprise

We happened to be there on date night which we didn't even know about but the waitress told us and it couldn't have been a better value. Service was nice and ambience similar to most restaurants these days. The food was very good except that the mixed vegetables would have been better if carmelized a little bit. (took some home and recooked them and they were very good). Nice wine list, good menu with lots of choices but not excessive so emphasis of kitchen can be on food freshly prepared. Service was delightful and clearly will return although have been there before.

We love the place. Excellent cuisine. Perfectly prepared. Great variety in the weekly menu. Our last server was not attentive. We arrived at least 10 minutes before the table next us. A different waiter. They ordered the exact meals that we had —the special. There were served and out of there, before we even got our dessert.

Our server was pretty new and had trouble answering some of our questions about the food and drinks. My southwest skillet was a little overdone and dry. My brother ordered the corn beef hash which was also a little dry but his poached eggs were done right. Our wait for the food was fairly long which explains the over done dishes. I’m anxious to try the lunch menu. The food was very tasty even though it was left under the lights too long. We will give them another try.

We had the Mardi Gras menu tonight and it was delicious. Best meal I have had in some time!

I ordered the French Toast Foster. I am not a French Toast fan but this was so very good. This French toast stayed firm with a crispy outer crunch. You may want to ask for a side of caramel sauce as the drizzle was a small amount. The homemade whipped cream is delicious! The crowd noise was not too horrible, we were able to converse easily at our table. I know my daughter and I will be back when she is home from school.
