Golden Kitchen Chinese - Surfside Beach

Let’s start with the positives. The chicken with vegetables was excellent, and the sauce on the sesame chicken had great flavor. I also appreciated the warm hospitality from the cashier when I arrived to pick up my order. Now for the negatives. The Mongolian beef was tough, and the sesame chicken was overcooked and dry. We chose the sesame chicken with white meat, hoping it would be an improvement over the traditional option, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. The egg foo young lacked flavor, and the fried rice contained only five tiny shrimp in the entire large portion. Given that our total was $73, I expected more from the meal.

The food was quite good overall, but the crab Rangoon was too chewy to enjoy. The white sauce had some zing to it, while the brown sauce was on the sweet side. The pork egg roll had a strange flavor.

First time ordering from them. Good food! Would definitely consider ordering from them again.

I placed an order at China Apple. My husband went out to pick up the order and mistakenly went to Golden Kitchen in Surfside. The owner of Golden Kitchen, who cannot speak English, gave him another person 's order and not knowing this he paid them $43.64 and took the bag. When he realized what happened, he returned with Victoria 's order Victoria was on the ticket) and kindly requested his money back. She started screaming and cursing him in Chinese and then the son, who speaks English, finally stepped in and told his mother in Chinese that we didn 't order from their restaurant and asked her to refund the charge several times, which she refused to do. She continued to scream at my husband in Chinese. No one should be assaulted in this manner. We will be having our bank address this and we will never go there ever again.

I gave this review after going to this establishment last night. If you want good Chinese food with a sweet smile and don’t mind humble yet cozy atmosphere… this is your place. I like the retro Chinese vibe this place exudes. The lady was super nice and always had a friendly smile. My pepper steak was delish, my husbands general Tao was done well, daughters sesame chicken was really good …. And the crab Rangoon was tasty. We will return next vacation and make it a tradition we will look forward to.
