The Food Lab - Sūrat

On my several visits here, I've not been disappointed by the food. Great hummus and falafel. Also tried : sizzler, pasta, pizza, nachos and bruschetta; all of which are pretty decent. Could give their drinks a miss though. The ambience is very casual and calm, the servers even calmer, resulting in very slow service. Also the seating is very uncomfortable.

Introducing a good Lebanese food to Surat... smart quirky ambience but very inconvenient n uncomfortable sitting on high chair and small tables.... service wasn't great..... food over all was good.. rating is given for food only.... can't say sure short if it's a must go restaurant... if they hv good staff u vl hv a good experience but if they r out of staff or over crowded then don't expect any thing other than food to fill ur empty stomach..... pizza is a must try there and the hummus..... not suitable for a dinner date or a corporate dinner meet.....

As I heard so much about it, this is wonderful experience to be here.. Stunning interiors , green wall and sitting arrangement is very nice.. let's talk about food..I ordered saucy fries it was yummy and mix pasta was just awesome. As the name of restaurant food lab feels like we are in chemical laboratory because waiters who work there they wear laboratory white coat. beverages they give in test tube. From chemical reaction I took gypsy mojito (lime and mint combination wins my heart) & it comes in measuring tube..this idea is just fabulous.. food lovers must visit once...

Ambience was really nice.. all things are nicely arranged and improving the attractiveness of the place. Food was good but costly as per quality and quantity. Staff was ok and very slow service. Pizza was over cook so thin crust has became biscuit. Other things like seating and decorum was nice. Looking forward to visit again.

So while we were touring to Surat we were suggested by a friend to visit this joint. The place is done up with some cute interiors. Also, they have tried to innovate the menu and incorporate some gastro food items. The place pretty much reminds you of a science laboratory. Sitting is a bit uncomfortable but their playlist makes up for it. Coming to the food we ordered for : Hummus and pita Nachos grande Mixed pasta French fries Paneer shashlik sizzler Peach Ice tea Mint Mojito Hummus and pita bread was normal and could be given a miss. 3/5 Nachos, as told were served separately with a mix of beans and corn and had a layer of cheese sauce. They were pretty good. 3.5/5 Mixed pasta was surely the best dish of our meal. It did have a slight sweetness but the cheesyness with it was well balanced. 4/5 French fries were salty goldenish yellow coloured fries with a perfect blend of crispness. 5/5 Paneer Shashlik Sizzler was a little disappointing, the sauce on top was pretty good and so were all the other side ingredients on the plate , except the paneer which tasted sour. On our request , they did replace the paneer however it still tasted sour. So we had to leave it and have the rice and other things from the sizzler platter. 2.5/5 Peach ice tea was below average the drink was not chilled at all and tasted very okay. 2.5/5 Mint mojito was also very average and could be given a miss. 2.5/5 Overall the place is good , the prices are a bit on a higher side , the staff could be more attentive , certain aspects of the food can be improved upon. Will we visit it again? Yes we will the next time we visit Surat !
