Hot Lava Bakery - Sunriver

Such a fantastic little bakery! We ate here two mornings during our Sunriver trip and I was sad I didn’t get a chance to try every one of their delicious pastries. Breakfast sandwiches were good, but the turnovers and scones were AMAZING! I’m always on the lookout for an amazing scone and the pecan cranberry scone exceeded all my expectations. We also loved the fruit smoothies (make sure to get some sugar in it, as it’s straight fruit! . One thing to note is that it is very small and there is super limited seating inside, so unless it’s summer and you want to sit outdoors, you should probably plan to take your food to go.

First and foremost the staff is amazing! Charlie literally made my day! I just wanted to say thank you. I look forward to coming here for years to come. The food is awesome and the people are better! Thank you so much for all y’all do!

I got married back in August 2021 and used Cecilia for our wedding cake. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and extremely delicious! We chose lemon cake with a raspberry jame filling and a vanilla buttercream icing. I can not thank her enough for also being a life saver!! Due to covid I had to cancel my large wedding and plan a small wedding in sunriver with only 8 months to go before our date, Cecilia was quick to respond and was so enjoyable to work with!

We stopped in for a quick mid morning treat and enjoyed what we ate! Service was friendly and quick. We shared a walnut brownie with dulce de leche and meringue, a giant big foot doughnut, and a crinkle cookie. None of us cared for the cookie but we all enjoyed the other sweets and our coffees. We will be back to try the savory options!

We ordered a custom birthday cake for my mother-in-law’s 60th birthday. We live about 5 hours away and had never been to/ordered from Hot Lava Bakery (HLB)before. Every aspect of ordering from HLB exceeded expectations. Emailing back and forth with the cake maker was so easy, and she made a cake that was even more beautiful than the picture I sent for inspiration. Best of all, the cake tasted great! Light delicate cake with delicious buttercream icing. We were so pleased, and we’d definitely order from HLB again. Also worth noting, when I went to pick up the cake, their other pastries looked amazing as well.
