I've moved to NYC, and I legit think about then weekly. I have yet to find another place to make short ribs and jellyfish like them. It's just perfect and we'll always be my go to. Can't wait to visit and actually eat at the restaurant. Thank you for amazing taste bud memories!!!
I have wanted to check them out for some time and finally did. ordered from the dim sum menu. Ordered the stir fried vegetables, thin sliced bbq pork, steamed pork buns, and backed pork buns. Everything was really good. Portion sizes were also much larger than i expected. I couldn't even finish the meal... so they will be happily consumed as leftovers later.
I really wanted to try again som Dim Sum, so there I went on a Saturday night to fulfill my wish, also wanting to find a new spot to eat regularly since I eat out all the time. I arrived it's in the back of a plaza the place it's what you can expect of a tradicional Chinese restaurant, horrible Decor, if we can call it that, and some musky odor coming from the carpet or seats who knows, but I guess that comes with the territory. Honestly I really didn't care about all that if the food was good. I asked the waiter to introduce me to the world of Dim Sum, he did a bad job, but nothing remarkable, finally I made my decision and I asked if we can bring me one dish at a time and he not rudely but very short, explain to me it was not an Italian restaurant, evidently he thinks only Italian restaurants con fire a particular dish at a particular time. I know I'm dealing with a different culture so, still was kind of ok. The Food came and it was ok, some better than other and finally I wanted to order my last dish, I call the waiter, and asked for the last one and he said, We are close and I though I read it closed at 10 and now it's 8:58 can it be close? I thought that after himself checkin on a clock he order de food, but then another woman came and ask if I wanted something else since it was the last call. I mentioned that I ordered the dish to the other gentleman but there was no order so she put the order for me again. I explained to her again that it was my understanding for all the signs online that they were closing at 10. Few minutes passed and another guy working there come to say to me no idea what and grab a paper from the door that had the times etc and put it on my face. Honestly I had no idea what was going on, I just mentioned that online it showed another time, that was it, and evidently it was a whole commotion about the closing time. The actions of this guy where so incredibly rude I call for the check and tried to explained what happened to the other people there but it was like I was invisible. Never in my life I experienced treatment like that in a restaurant. Simply Amazing if you like this kind of treatment this is the restaurant for you. Of course, I'll have to keep on looking for a better Dim Sum restaurant around my place. Please be aware of this, and don't be surprised if something similar happened to you.
Ordered a full of dressed from the dim-sum menu and the typical dinner menu. fried pork chops are phenomenal and one has to get; however, the garnelen taro and orange bark meat were subpar and simply strange! overall a good experience.
A $40 mid-week lunch of Chinese food for two, crazy right! Big mistake, was not asking for the lunch menu! They only give you the dim-sum menu. That one sells you everything at high prices for small plates. $4.95 for 2 spring rolls. $5.25 for two beef steam buns. The noodle soup listed with no price is $8.95. It was shareable, but bland with only 4 wontons! The fried rice has no price or list of ingredients, it was tasty, but for $12.95 I would expected more. Food was just ok, service was just ok.
