Philomena's - Sunnyside

This place has simply broken my expectations of what a great pizza slice or pie should be. I am just sad I only found this place through a friend after moving out of state! It's worth it no amount of words will accurately describe how good it is. Give ita chance and fall in love!

The best pizza I've had in New York is at Philomena's in Sunnyside, Queens. It's even better than Joe's, NY Pizza Suprema, and Prince St. I tried the cheese pizza, the square pizza, and the Tiramisu, and everything was outstanding! The owner, Dave, is incredibly passionate about making pizza, and his enthusiasm is truly contagious. I took this picture with him at Philomena's, which is conveniently located on the way to Citi Field via the subway at 40th Street. The pizza far surpasses all the popular tourist spots in NYC. Just make sure to check the hours, as they primarily operate in the evening, opening at 4 PM.

I can't say they're the best pizza place in Queens, but they are definitely one of the good ones. Their pizza crust is very thin and crispy. The square pizza didn’t impress me at all, but the personal pies were quite good. If they could elevate the quality of their ingredients a bit, I would confidently consider them the best. Regardless, I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

Philomena's was always at the top of the list, but when it was getting hard to actually get a pizza delivers they fell a few notches. UNTIL TONIGHT! They are now only offering personal pizza. I was hesitant at first, but of course this so brilliant!People who live in NYC usual only need a personal sized pizza! And so, so, soooo good! Thanks Philomena?s!!
