The Little Peppercorn Tea Rooms

Dropped my phone off next door for repair so had half an hour to kill. As it was lunchtime I was peckish and, having noticed the cafe as I passed, thought I’d give it a try. Absolutely brilliant! Spotlessly clean and a warm welcome always bode well for a food establishment and I wasn’t to be disappointed. Chanced an “All day breakfast” although there were plenty of other options. Service was quick and I had the pleasure of eating while I still had a hot cup of tea not a regular thing in my experience, so many cafes give you your drink but are that slow with service you’ve either finished it or it’s cold. Not here, tea was still hot when the food arrived. I’d opted for the small version which consisted of 1 sausage, 1 rasher, 1 egg, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes and a slice of toast. All well cooked, decent quality, and very, very, tasty. The price was reasonable and there was the facility to sit outside for hardier souls. All in all a good little spot and well worth a return visit.

Visited the little peppercorn tea room after a lovely walk through hetton country park. Owner made us feel very welcome. Tea room beautifully decorated and felt warm and cosy. Mince and dumplings with homemade chips were delicious. Well worth a visit and we will be back. Thank you

Popped in at 11am a week before Christmas. Welcomed as we came through the door and took a seat next to a warm radiator (it was freezing outside). Ordered a big breakfast and a small breakfast. Absolutely beautifully cooked and totally delicious. All items on the breakfast of excellent quality of particular note the black pudding and bacon. Accompanied by a nice strong Americano coffee with the cutest little milk bottles. Resonably priced and highly recommended. Ps, to the owners your desserts could be a little less expensive.

Had a lovely xmas meal with some special ladies. Food delicious, great atmosphere and staff were friendly and efficient. Definate one on for return.

Had an afternoon tea with some friends. What an amazing choice of sanwiches,pastries and cakes.plus individual trifles. Bottomless tea and coffee. Very friendly staff ,nothing too much trouble. Definitely worth a visit and wiil be returning.
