We ordered two pizzas, fish and chips, and a mixed platter of chicken and lamb gyros, followed by cheesecake. All of the meals were outstanding, and the service from Josh was fantastic. We had an absolutely brilliant experience and will definitely be returning.
I used to live nearby and it had been a few years since my last visit. After hiking the C2C trail all day, my friends and I decided to stop by the courtyard on our way home for a relaxing drink at teatime. However, we were disappointed to find that the courtyard was littered and unappealing. Despite our initial excitement, we couldn't ignore the numerous cigarette butts under every table. We ordered two pints of lager for £8.80, but couldn't enjoy them in such a dirty environment. As an ex-smoker, I am not blaming smokers, but rather the establishment for failing to clean and maintain their courtyard. It is their responsibility to keep the area presentable for customers. After seeing the state of the courtyard, I would not feel comfortable eating there and can only imagine the condition of the kitchen.
Normally absolutely love coming here, spend £30 to £40 every week on drinks as it is round the corner. Take my dog every time and as it’s dog friendly it’s never a problem… until today. Went with my mam and we both took our dogs, had spend well over £40 on a snack and drinks between us and our dogs (shih tzus by the way) seen one of our friends and had a little bark, mind this had not been a problem all afternoon when staff and the manager gave them treats which in turn made them bark with excitement. Then a blonde girl who works there comes over and asks us to move outside as the dogs were ‘too loud’, it’s supposedly dog friendly and funnily enough dogs bark? However there was no tables outside so I didn’t get to finish my gin I had just bought which isn’t cheap! I’ve seen other dogs barking and going crazy before and nothing has been said but our dogs have a little bark and then we get asked to move! Not happy at all and wasted money on a drink I couldn’t drink. Normally have a lovely experience and the staff are normally amazing but this girl was not at all.
We stayed here as a break to a long journey. It seems a nice family and dog friendly place, and it was nice to be able to sit outside in the courtyard. Very good value for money our bill for two pizzas and two soft drinks was around £16! Gluten free pizza was lovely, and there was lots of gluten free choice on the menu.
Been looking forward to trying the Courtyard. Ordered pulled beef sandwich allegedly with thick gravy etc, described as a gourmet sandwich.A cheap bun turned up with 2 slices ofthin sliced beef in with a spoonful of watery gravy, nothing at all like the description. Also got fiery fries.Frozen chips with a few bits of rock hard chicken on top and pepper sauce, microwaved. So disappointed, certainly wouldn't go back or recommend
