Wayback Burgers - Summerville

Went here for the first time yesterday. Upon entering you could smell that it was time to change the cooking oil! My burger was decent, but my son’s chicken strips tasted like old grease. We both have upset stomachs.

After waiting 30 minutes for a burger and fries order to be cooked (according to the shift mgr on duty the normal ticket time for food is 7 minutes) I was greatly disappointed in the quality of food I was given. The fries were old, cold, and rubbery. The special Oktoberfest burger I was given lacked the cheese as shown and listed on the menu board. I asked to speak to a manager about the wait time for the 30 minutes ticket time and was told by a rude line cook we don 't got no manager here now. You will have to come back after 4 to talk to management. I then asked who was currently in charge in the building and was met by an indecisive shift leader. He was so lacking in customer service skills that a 5 year old could have handled the problems in the restaurant better. He too told me I could come back after 4 or call in to address the ticket wait time. His excuse was were short staffed like everyone else and I should just accept that. It wasn 't until after I left and opened up my wrapped burger to find it missing items......I guess the line cook doesn 't have to make burgers as the menu describes either and I should accept that too. So basically I spent almost $15. on a nasty to go meal that only item worth consuming was the drink. I will NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be discussing today 's visit with the manager when they actually come into work today.

Our first time trying Wayback and it was NOT good!! Ordered though Uber eats because we wanted a night in instead of out! The biggest problem was that all of our food wasn’t there including my kids tender meal. My burger was so greasy that I couldn’t eat it and had no flavor! Expected fries not to be piping hot (they were lukewarm) but they tasted old as well. Food wasn’t good at all. Paid over $100 for food that wasn’t there and wasn’t edible. Very disappointed and still hungry since I couldn’t eat it! After hearing so many good things about this business, I was really expecting so much more.

My experience with my friend was great. They greeted us coming in and explained the order options just right. I purchased the Wayback Classic and the Full fry combo with a Vanilla Shake. Awesome.

Even though I waited 10 plus minutes on hold to order my food it was as always delicious and I have to say there is not another burger in town that beats it. So it's well worth the wait (when I have the time).
