The seating is a bit close together, but the atmosphere was very relaxing. The servers appeared to be a bit overwhelmed, but the food was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we’ll definitely return. If you’re in Summerville, be sure to check this place out! I’d give it a 9/10.
You won’t find better service anywhere in Summerville. Mamu truly makes everyone feel welcomed and valued. Be sure to try the Kawa (crispy chicken skin yakitori) — it’s a must! I had the ramen with shrimp tempura and appreciated that the shrimp was served on the side, keeping it crispy instead of soggy. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the broth was incredibly flavorful. My husband enjoyed the teriyaki ribeye and chicken combo, which was also delicious. I recommend making a reservation; we didn't, but Mamu kindly looked after us while we waited for space at the bar. Her dedication to her business is evident, and she clearly has a passion for both food and her customers.
They served us their signature broth on the house, and calling it the best broth I’ve ever tasted would be an understatement. While waiting, fellow diners recommended the chicken skin skewers, and I’m so grateful for that tip—they were incredible! The menu was extensive, featuring unique and enticing options, leading us to order more than we probably should have, but we were too excited to try as many dishes as possible. We shared four appetizers and four skewers, and the tuna tataki appetizer was outstanding. Mama Jun even came to our table to show us how to eat it, personally feeding us! For our main courses, we chose the salmon belly tempura and Myles’ stir-fried noodles, and we were completely stuffed. Every dish was fresh and delicious, and the service was swift, warm, and attentive. We genuinely felt like long-time friends, and Mama Jun even gave us hugs as we left. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!
They have Yakitori. Not bad. Not great. Server needed to clear plates. She seemed to be more concerned about the kitchen closing at 8:30 and collecting the money than doing a good job. I was pleasantly surprised by the pickled daikon garnish. Also, the wasabi felt like it had actual wasabi mixed with the green horseradish based BS. The owner is very over the top. Very unlikely we will go back.
As I am sitting here in Myles and Jun across from my wife, we are internally and externally pleased with everything in this restaurant. This is our first time here and we plan to make this a regular spot in our restaurant cycle. We frequent many upscale establishments, the service and food here far surpasses that of anywhere we have been in South Carolina and the top 3 restaurants I’ve been to in my life! We plan on spreading the news about Myles and Jun to everyone we know! Love y’all and we’ll be back very soon and often! Peace and blessings from the man above
