Harry was very informative about the wines and his daughter went above and beyond to accommodate our group with a delicious meal. The food was well prepared and was creative and tasty. This was a lovely place to spend a few hours.
Had lunch with friends at Elevation Eatery on Saturday the 6th of June ... the setting is glorious, service friendly and the the food was superb. The parking is a bit dicey and quite restricted but still worth the drive. Chef Kaila Klassen has put together a diversified lunch menu - no tuna melts here! Locally sourced the salads were fresh and the cheese plate variety excellent. Food presentation is superb right down to the French press coffee, served with milk or cream in a china jug .. no plastic here either. The wine is another matter ... very ordinary, very young and the Chardonnay could have been anything! Since the restaurant and the winery are owned separately, the Restaurant would do well to eventually include other wines on their wine list.Worth the drive, excellent food, good service and great view!Louise Miles - Kelowna BC
Chef Kaila Klassen of MasterChef Canada Season 1 has just opened a wonderful new restaurant at the new Evolve Cellars winery in Summerland, BC (formerly Bonitas winery). The setting is exquisite, especially on the patio overlooking the vineyard and the lake - you are literally sitting among the grapevines, with the most breathtaking, peaceful and private lake views. And what could be better than sipping a Wine Slushie outside under an umbrella in the warm Okanagan sunshine! We had the braised short rib sandwich, which was grilled to perfection, served with a fantastic Elevated Salad (this surpassed my longtime favorite short rib sandwich at the Cactus Club). We also enjoyed the weekly Saturday Special: Prawn Tagliatelle. We look forward to returning to this fabulous restaurant again and again... it is an hour's drive for us (along one of the most beautiful lakeside drives in the world!) and having lunch here feels like we've been on a sublime vacation. I am already planning my return visit - next time with the "bubbly" flight of 3 sparkling wines... aahhhh! And after lunch, you can stroll through the vineyard toward the lake!
The location for this 'eatery' is fantastic, formerly Bonitas winery & restaurant, now Evolve Cellars & Elevation Eatery. We headed over to sample the wines at Evolve, and then decided to sit on the patio (which is under Elevations licence) to have a bottle of wine & check out the menu. We had a snack, 'Good things come in threes', hummus, corn salsa and the winner of the day: crab & prawn riette, (rilette?) menu says riette, that was incredible, also a red pepper jelly, bit sweet for me but good. A bisque that was so tasty, food like this makes me VERY happy. Wine menu is good, mainly evolve, a couple of other local choices, sangria & wine slushies for those who want something cocktail like, (not me). Service was good, friendly & helpful. I'm really looking forward to visiting again, this has the full monty, excellent food, good service and a stunning location.
We had some nibbles when we had finished a tasting at Evolve Cellars, the day they opened. We already knew about the incredible view that can be enjoyed from the patio, it's a great spot. We had some dips, hummus, crab & prawn rilette, corn salsa, all incredibly delicious, the crab & prawn in particular. We also had a vegetable bisque, when someone can make food that makes me smile when I get the first taste, I am so happy. I cannot wait to go back, there are plenty of things on the menu I want to try. Good pricing too. Lovely staff.
