Pioneer Cafe - Sulphur Springs

I absolutely love the Pioneer Cafe in Sulphur Springs, TX! It’s hands down the best place to eat. The staff and owners are very friendly, making you feel right at home. The food is all homemade and incredibly delicious, especially the fresh rolls and the tea. And the desserts are simply the best! I highly recommend the Pioneer Cafe to anyone visiting Sulphur Springs. As someone who uses a wheelchair, I go there every chance I get, and my son Tim always takes me. The warm welcome from everyone there makes the experience even more special. Thank you for your time!

I have a friend whose wife works there, so I decided to give it a try several years ago, and I've never been disappointed since. The chicken fried steak, omelets, chicken fried chicken, and veggies are all fantastic! Whether you're in the mood for breakfast or lunch, I bet you'll leave satisfied and full. Oh, and the service is excellent too!

When our food arrived, we were surprised by the small size of the CFS—it initially looked like a tiny hamburger patty. But when we actually tasted it, we were disappointed. It was just a small cubed steak with a light dusting of flour—definitely no batter, no seasonings, and it was overcooked. The gravy seemed like they had simply mixed pre-made powdered gravy with sausage grease. The only redeeming aspect of our meal was the biscuits. When we inquired about the one-coffee-refill policy, we were informed it was a mistake, and that refills were indeed free. However, they seriously need to address the fly issue and reconsider their kitchen staff. If someone can't manage to cook scrambled eggs without burning them, they shouldn’t be working in a café. We definitely won't be returning.
