The sign indicated that the restaurant opened at 11:00, and the sign was lit up. However, at 11:09, they still refused to unlock the door for us and told us to wait "5 more minutes." After waiting for twenty minutes in the cold, we decided that they no longer deserved our business.
We stopped through town on the way back from the farm expo. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered fajitas, the giant burrito, the chimichanga, and some queso fundido. Everything was delicious and freshly made. Out of everything, the fajitas and queso fundido were the best if we had to rank them. We also order a pitcher of margaritas which was also very good.The restaurant filled up while we were there all tables full with people also picking up to go orders. Definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in a while.
The service was decent, but the food left much to be desired. I've never encountered salsa so unappetizing at a restaurant that I actually stopped eating the chips; it tasted like diluted tomatoes with way too much onion. I'm not sure if we just got a bad batch, but it was disappointing. I ordered a chicken fajita with jalapeños added, but it arrived overloaded with strange, stringy chicken and only a small amount of tomato and jalapeño. There was hardly any onion and no peppers, which were supposed to be included. Honestly, I had a hard time getting through my meal. It seems this restaurant specializes in a more Americanized version of Mexican food, so if you're a fan of chicken, cheese, and rice, you might enjoy it.
I will begin with the time of our arrival 1:00 on Sunday while most people were filing out. If you don't have lemon, don't take an order for tea with lemon. Grind the ice cubes out of the frozen margaritas. Buy a couple more glasses so you don't have to serve squishy styrofoam cups.If you offer chuncks of beef in your chimi, don't grind them into burger. Provide silverware before the meal is served to cool off on the table while waiting for utensils. If there are two people at a table you may want to provide two napkins not one? If the mens room is out of order put up a sign that tells where the hidden bathroom is.
