The Riverside Bar Restaurant - Sudbury

The location is fantastic! My wife had the special Barnsley chops, which were incredible. Unfortunately, my burger was a bit bland and slightly burnt. Overall, the service and location both deserve a 5 out of 5.

I walked in without a reservation and was greeted warmly by the staff, who promptly seated me outside on a lovely terrace. The service was friendly, but the food was a bit of a mixed bag. While the presentation was impressive, the taste and quality did not live up to expectations. The Yorkshire pudding was excessively oily, the potatoes seemed to have been sitting under a hot plate all day, and the beef was tough and bland. The cabbage tasted like it came straight from a jar. Based on this one visit, I wouldn't be eager to return, but perhaps we just had an off experience.

However, the en-suite shower could use some improvement; it had drainage issues, stiff controls, and a loose shower head. Additionally, the door handle was wobbly. We also experienced problems with the WiFi, which we reported to the staff, and the TV aerial required careful adjustment for optimal reception. Overall, these were minor issues, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the disappointing weather.
