It's essential for diners to understand that this is a small place with only a few staff members trying to handle the increased attention from the publicity. If you're planning to visit soon, please be mindful of this and exercise some patience; it’s not fair to leave a negative review due to longer wait times or unanswered calls in this situation. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Fantini’s!!!
If you're looking for a setting that captures the essence of Connecticut, this is the place to be. It truly felt like home to me. The walls are decorated with iconic black-and-white photos that celebrate what makes New Haven special, along with a banner from Yale University. Additionally, there's a delightful sign at the entrance that honors one of the streets famous for New Haven pizza.
What a delightful hidden gem! This restaurant serves authentic "up North" pizza! As an Italian from New Jersey with a family background in restaurants and pizzerias, I truly appreciate what makes good pizza. The crust here is thin and crispy, while the sauce and cheese are perfectly balanced—not overloaded with either—and all the ingredients are of the highest quality. Both pizzas we ordered were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. We started with a plain cheese pizza to assess the quality and then enjoyed a spinach, Gorgonzola, and mushroom pizza. We loved every bite! The service was outstanding—thank you, Anthony! The owner, Jimmy, was genuinely warm and welcoming. Even though we live two hours away, we’re already planning our return to try out their dinner menu. This is authentic Neapolitan pizza at its best!
My husband and have been waiting to try Fantini's but, every time we tried calling the lines were busy and there was a line outside. On Saturday May 7th we enjoyed a movie and decided to give Fantini's a call to see if we could get in (this was around 8PM we spoke with Jimmy the owner and he said come on in and we will get you seated. We arrived and were greeted by Jimmy and his mother sat us at our table, Jennifer was the waitress, the restaurant was beautiful, atmosphere was great and the food was delicious! We did get to enjoy the company of the couple who sat next to us, there was a mix up on our pizzas but, the experience was great none the less and we will be back again! Thank You :
Hubby has been raving about the New Haven style pizza he had in a road trip thru CT, and when he found out there was one in Stuart, Fl he drove out to pick some up for me. We got the Esther's Eggplant, Jimmy's Favorite, and Spinach/Mushroom/Gorgonzola. Our favorite was the eggplant one we could not stop eating it. The other 2 were also great but we could only handle a slice of it. Jimmy's favorite was spicyyyyyyy (I loved it, hubby's taste buds couldn't handle it tho haha). The Gorgonzola (aka blue cheese) pie was very rich, but you'll enjoy if you love blue cheese. Hubby said he was expecting the pizza to be a bit thinner. However, as someone who never had New Haven style pizza, I thought they were absolutely delicious toppings were plentiful, sauce flavored perfectly, and crust super crispy. We also got tiramisu and cannolis the top of the tiramisu was a bit frozen..? Not sure if it was still thawing from freezer or if it was just an issue with their refrigerator? Regardless it was still delish.
