For me, it was the first and last time. Ps lady on the phone following orders can barely nerdlands, French, duties, angels, and this lady is here to pick up phone orders?
When I made a reservation, the person at Formosa was poor in speaking French, English, and certainly not Dutch. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM on a Thursday evening and found the place to be empty. The interior appeared much larger than it looked from the outside and was nicely decorated. The waitress promptly handed us the menu but did not return for about 10 minutes. I had to call her over myself because we wanted to order drinks while we decided on our meal. The appetizers were very good - my husband and I had a mix of dim sum, while my mother had a Vietnamese mix (nem, sate). When our main courses arrived, our plates were almost thrown on the table and mine had a bad smell. I had ordered a dish with coconut milk, tomatoes, and lemon balm, which was terrible even though I usually love coconut-based dishes. My mother's dish seemed to be mistranslated - the menu listed "geroosterde eend" with the translation as "canard laque," which is not the same. The duck was awful, with only bones and a few cucumber slices, and the sauce was terrible, labeled as barbecue. I have eaten oriental food on many occasions, and while it may not always be of the highest quality, it was certainly never as bad as the food here and usually cheaper. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

When I called to make a reservation, the person at Formosa spoke very poor French, English, and definitely not Dutch. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 pm on a Thursday evening and found the place to be empty. The interior seemed much larger and well-decorated than it appeared from the outside. The waitress promptly handed us the menu, but then disappeared for about 10 minutes. I had to call her over myself so we could order drinks while we decided on our meal. The appetizers were delicious! My husband and I shared a mix of dim sum, while my mother ordered a Vietnamese dish (nem, sate). When our main course arrived, our plates were practically thrown onto the table, and my plate had a bad odor when it was set down. I ordered a coconut milk dish with tomato and lemon balm, and it was truly awful, even though I usually enjoy coconut flavors. My mother ordered something that seemed to be mistranslated. The menu listed "geroosterde" as "canard laque," which was not at all accurate. The duck was terrible, with just tears and a few slices of cucumber, along with a terrible sauce they called barbecue (when we asked). I've eaten many oriental dishes before, and while they may not always be top-notch, they certainly haven't been as bad as this and were definitely cheaper. We won't be returning to this restaurant.
Very good restaurant, we eat great well, the setting is pleasant, and we eat there in a week in a quiet
