Egg Basket Pancake House - Streamwood

The food was enjoyable, but the service was somewhat slow, which is understandable these days. They've renovated since my last visit, and it looks significantly better.

If this is considered the best restaurant in the area, I must admit I'm surprised. The food was average, and the breakfast left much to be desired. Starting with the orange juice, it was clearly from a carton and not freshly squeezed. The French toast was bland, with flavor only coming from the boxed maple syrup. The server seemed disinterested and never checked in to see if everything was alright, nor did they offer any ketchup or hot sauce. The vegetable skillet was decent, similar to what you'd find anywhere else. Overall, the breakfast experience was just okay. Sure, you can have breakfast here, but it doesn't stand out as the best or anything special. In fact, while I was eating, I found myself wishing I were at IHOP, where I've had better breakfasts. I'm not from this area, so maybe this is the best option around, but honestly, I've had better breakfasts at practically every other place I’ve visited. I don't mean to criticize the management or the food; it's just that people claimed this was the best, and I simply don't agree. Just my two cents.

I was quite disappointed with our breakfast. The ham off the bone was incredibly dry; I couldn't finish it. The toast was more burnt than toasted and came unbuttered. I ordered the Moroccan skillet, which was decent but lacked flavor. It was a bit watery due to the tomatoes and really needed some bread for dipping. It has the potential to be a great dish. On the plus side, the service was good, but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Came in for brunch and even though they were extremely busy, they were able to seat us promptly and give us great service. The pancakes were delicious as was the Fiesta Skillet, highly recommend this Pancake House! ?. Only thing that was off-putting wasthe credit card fee, random and uncalled for.

Food was good. Service good. I did not understand my bill so I questioned it. 1. Extra charge on bill for using credit card. I PAID CASH. 2. bill was $14.73. Got $5 back. Questioned where the change was and was told due to coin shortage they don'thave change. So I would have been ripped off for the credit card fee and no change had I not questioned. Be careful andcheck your bill out
