The slow cooked lamb shoulder was amazing, The lamb cooked to perfection, no knife need and...the vegetables were vibrant on the plate. Yes a bit on the pricey side when thinking of pub food but really enjoyed the food. Staff were very busy but still had time to answer some questions. Dining room very bland.
Went on a return visit for a family members birthday, it's been 6 months or so since we last went, biggest disappoint was that the menu from memory was identical, pedestrian nothing too difficult meals, which if you get them wrong stands out like the proverbial.Specials were ok, and my ribs were lip smacking, but most others were not overly impressed, I think there is a challenge here to get some significant change here for the owners, I for one won't return until I see a menu that alters and offers better than pub meals,.Service was ok, but meals also appeared really slow to get to the table, and as I said average pub style meals shouldn't take that long to appear, and it wasn't overly busy eitherAt the present moment, I think there are much better alternatives on offer in Bendigo.
Loved Braidies when they had kids free deal on Monday's but since change of owners this has been removed. Meals now smaller (especially the parma) but they were probably too big previously anyway! Service is always good, meals (for 3 of us) generally arrive within 20 minutes. I have read previous negative reviews, sounds like a different pub that Braidies! I think some people expect the world.
We went to celebrate my girlfriend's grandmother's birthday at this restaurant. We ordered BBQ wings as an appetizer, but they were drenched in sauce making it difficult to eat without making a mess. They also seemed to be microwaved as some parts were hot while others were cold. For the main course, I ordered a Parmesan dish with undercooked vegetables that included capsicum and zucchini, which I did not like. The chips were small and lacked potato, resulting in a crunchy texture. The Parmesan itself was large, but had minimal ham and too much sauce, making it soggy. Overall, the meal was not enjoyable, but it was nice to spend time with family.
As it has been a very long time since my husband and I have been out for dinner, we thought we would go to our local pub. Haven't been there for quite a while now and as it was being renovated, thought we would give...it another go. Firstly on arrival, we weren't on the list even though my husband dropped in a couple of hours earlier. The waiter said he forgot to put it on the list. We got a table and a drink and ordered. My husband got a pulled pork burger which he enjoyed. I ordered Chicken Gnocchi. When it came out, my face told the story. It was not what I was expecting and had no chicken in it. I tried it and it was tomato sauce based, quite spicy with some sort of salami as the meat definitely not chicken. My husband took the meal back to the bar where the waiter half argued the point saying it was chicken gnocchi and that's what it looked like then offered a refund. I would have gone home hungry great!! My husband then ordered me the pork belly which was okay nothing special but the whole experience was really disappointing. Also, there is never enough staff on so you have to wait for everything and they are not a very friendly bunch. Not really impressed with that they have done to the place with polished concrete which now makes everything so noisy and well, I think its catering to a young crowd so the more mature will need to find somewhere else to eat. It is quite handy to where we live but we will need to find somewhere new. It used to be good with the previous owners but now.......
