The Prune - Stratford

The Prune was a delight. From the beginning, the maître d' was able to seat us away from people with strong perfume. Our server, Stacey was fabulous and made some suggestions based on a couple of allergies. The appetizers, Corn Soup and prosciutto and melon were full of flavour. Mains of Halibut and Short Ribs were cooked to perfection and the vegetables, sauces and garnishes worked very well together.For dessert we indulged in the Crème Caramel and Peach Melba. My only criticism of the whole experience was that the cake in the peach melba was a little dry.Overall great food, great service. It will be our go-to place next time we are in Stratford.

The new location is AMAZING! Everything was Devine. Great space, food and service. Have the Duck Confit it’s is nationally recognized. Highly recommend make reservations!

Our dinner was perfect. Alysia (sp? served us made us feel as if we were the only people in the extremely busy restaurant. She explained everything, made great suggestions continually but not intrusively checked in on us. We had the three course prix fixe the wine pairings were perfect! The fish was the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked served hot! I look forward to my next visit. Reservations are a must.

We loved our meal at Prune. It has an upscale vibe to it and you can see right into the kitchen to see the chefs do their work.

What a wonderful meal one of those rare joys where you’re able to appreciate how magically a plate of food can come together to create an absolute experience of taste.The service from the maitre ‘d and wait staff was excellent; our server Jake was attentive and friendly and we were frequently asked by other staffers not just how our food was, but our entire experience. When calling to book, we were asked about food allergies and by the time we arrived, our wheat sensitivity had already been conveyed to Jake, who was ready with suggestions on the menu to accommodate.The restaurant is tranquil, contemporary and very clean (including the washrooms) and the decor is simple yet beautiful. The kitchen is fronted by windows and it was fun to watch the chefs bustle as they fulfilled their orders.My only criticism was that the wait to get our meal was longer than it normally would be (and updates on this would have been appreciated), however it appeared that there may have been a small backlog in the kitchen for whatever reason, and was not due to bad service on behalf of the wait staff.When the meal did come, the slower speed was forgiven.
