I had a very pleasant experience in this historic home and met two lovely ladies who taught me a lot about tea from all over the world. The tea pot and accessories are amazing and like nothing you will find in a common store. i walked out with two different teas and pots and am very happy i made the 4 block walk.
We went to Stratford for a morning of foraging in the woods for fiddleheads, ramps, stinging nettle, and dandelions. Our guide took us to Tea Leaves where he served us lunch that he cooked himself prior to the event. I don't drink tea often enough and if I do, it would usually be the organic herbal teas. What I tasted at Tea Leaves was something else ... I can't remember the names of the teas I had but one had a chocolate mint flavor another was like sweet cinnamon, and another was like citronelle lemon. They were really, really good! The owner, Karen, was so helpful and very friendly. She knows her teas a lot. And Tea Leaves offers a vast selection of teas! When you're in the area, don't miss stopping at this place. Tea lovers will fall in love with Tea Leaves!
Looking for something different to do in Stratford, I discovered the Tea Leaves Tea Tasting Bar and it's host Karen Hartwick who is a registered Tea Sommelier. Never knew the designation existed, so was determined to learn more. I’m glad my friends and I opted for Tea and Chocolate tasting, two favourite flavours, but not ones I would have thought to put together. Karen guided the four of us through a specific flight of teas and then paired them with a range of chocolates (from Stratford’s own Rheo Thompson, of course!). My friends and I all love tea, learned a lot, and am now ready to try other flavours I might not have considered before. Would go again.
My partner and I were in town for the Shakespeare Festival in September.
