Yamato Hibachi Poke Bowl - Storrs

Not terrible considering the location, but if this was in a big city I would rate it high 2 low 3. Way to much rice compared to fish

Went with a friend and dined in. The area to eat there is pretty small, it's basically just two tables and a bar facing the window. It was also cold in there but I'm guessing it's cuz most of their orders are for pick up.Got two miso soups, steamed veggie dumplings, a fantastic maki roll, a dragon maki roll, two eel avocado rolls, and with two cokes it came out to $58.The miso was good though a little sweet, I saved it and added more salt to it at home. The veggie dumplings were soggy at the bottom and made it so our chopsticks almost cut through them while the edges were chewy and a little crunchy so that seemed like they were left to steam for too long. The sushi was all great and they used room temp avocado which is subtle but it made the rolls better, in my opinion. The cans of coke were overpriced at basically $2 each but overall the food was good and the rolls were affordable.Would recommend their food but if you don't wanna be cold, I suggest you make a pick up order.

Yamato is the best sushi and poke spot for miles around, truly the top choice in the Storrs area. Their hours can be a bit inconsistent, and they do close during the summer off-season, but I visit regularly and have always left satisfied.

The posted business hours were inaccurate, both on Google and on the restaurant's sign. It was closed with no one present during the stated hours.
