The dishes were overly greasy and salty, with a terrible taste that resembled old, stale food. I will definitely not be returning to this establishment.
I recently had a delicious and enjoyable meal at this restaurant after a long time. The food was exactly to my liking and I found it addictive. The fish Karahi and achari chicken were superb and I especially loved the flavor of the curry gravy. The dishes were very aromatic, fragrant, and spicy. While some may find the curries oily, I personally enjoy them and usually skim off the excess oil. My friend strained his curry through a fine sieve. We tried each other's dishes and both agreed they were amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was both tender and succulent. I can only speak for certain curries as I haven't tried much of the menu, but I usually order nihari or Jalfrezi apna style if the above options aren't available. In my opinion, these four curries are the best in Stoke on Trent by far.
I have been a loyal customer of karahi Master, spending £70 or more per week. However, I have been disappointed with the service provided by the front line staff. Two of them are extremely rude and ill-mannered, often messing up my orders, such as delivering cold, tough chicken. I have had to beg for sauce for my food each time I visit. One staff member even sang Hindi love songs when I was placing my order, which I found inappropriate. Prices are also frequently changed, sometimes by a pound more or less. Recently, my delivery charge doubled and I had to negotiate for it to be halved. I had a negative encounter with one of their delivery drivers who was trying to flirt with me, offering me Indian sweets, which I declined. When I asked for a different delivery person, I was scolded and shouted at over the phone. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. I will not be returning to karahi Master due to their poor and ungrateful customer service.
Delicious food. I think this is best available locally for the type of curry I like. The Nihari was superb (I do always skim off excess oil into a teacup) Love the flavour and gravy. Fisk Karahi with added peas is delicious too. Other times we order achari lamb or chicken, this is always delicious. A lovely fragrant spicy taste. I’ve liked it here for years for these curries. I don’t try anything else so can’t comment on the rest of the menu. We did always like the chicken tikka and lamb chops a few years back and never had reason to complain.
Ordered a lamb curry and chicken biriyani with chips to takeaway. I regularly eat and cook curry so know the difference between an old curry and fresh curry. The meat was very chewy in the curry and the rice in the biryani was dry and stale like it had been in the fridge for a few days. Portions very small, but this time that was ok because the food tasted horrible.
