Dante's Pizza Cafe - Stockton

I am extremely disappointed! I've always considered Dante's to be one of the best, if not the best, pizza places in Stockton. I live at least 15 minutes away and gladly travel that distance, even when there are other pizza options nearby. However, today was a letdown. The crust was excessively thick, and the sauce was barely noticeable—almost watered down! The toppings were sparse, and the entire pizza lacked flavor. I don’t know what happened during COVID, but the quality has really fallen short of my expectations. It's frustrating because I can't even enjoy the few extra slices I took home. Not good at all!

Dante's Pizza Cafe in north Stockton, California has a full-service sit down restaurant and takeout business. We ordered a large California combo pizza with extra thin crust and a half-sized Cobb salad. The pizza was $31.80 before tax, loaded with toppings. The extra thin crust was very thick. The taste of the food was amazing and the two ladies working at the check-out counter were awesome and friendly. I ordered our items over the phone. We were told to wait would be around 45 minutes and that was accurate.

It's been a while since we've been here. We all had a craving for pasta and Dante's did not disappoint. The pasta dishes come with a nice size salad and garlic bread. The salad included garbanzo and kidney beans, topped with 2 slices of tomato and lots of cheese. The garlic bread was toasted perfectly with lots of butter and garlic flavor. The spaghetti was a huge bowl filled with linguini noodles and just enough meat sauce. I added 2 meatballs, which were about the size of a fist. They added a nice touch to the spaghetti. My husband enjoyed his seafood linguini. Again, the bowl was filled with noodles and had a good amount of seafood. Our server was fantastic! He was very welcoming, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Service was prompt and he was good about keeping our beverages filled. We had a nice experience at Dante's. We need to come here more often.

The service was outstanding. I really enjoyed the breadsticks and marinara sauce. I had the vegetarian pizza, which was decent, but it had a bit too much dough for my taste. Overall, it’s a good spot to dine.

I ordered the large cheesesteak, and let me tell you, it could easily feed a family! The restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday night. I forgot to bring my salad, but that was fine because I ended up making my own. We had an abundance of food. Next time, I definitely want to try the pizza. I do wish they had Hahn beer, but they did offer a nice selection of bottled options. I highly recommend this place!
