It was nice and homey We had the seafood pasta and the lamb chops. With the artichokes as a starter. What is with wine prices here....wow though I may have cracked the code as most places have a lower priced house wine that isn't on the menu. Food was good I am not a big eater so gave my BF two of the chops but they were pretty good sized, and properly cooked with a great sauce, I hate over cooked meat this was very medium rare, and came with a very flavorful salad. For the city of Stockholm I would say it was a good value. Note though that frippe a bistro on the street has wine for half the price and much more value oriented entree prices, that is going to be tomorrow night!
As we have become accustomed to on our trip in Sweden, the staff was very friendly. We had an assortment of traditional Italian specialities as a starter, which was great, and we had spaghetti with mozzarella and veal with gnocchi for main courses, and they both tasted great.
Bad restaurants don't deserve long reviews, so to the point: -Great location in posh Ostermalm. -Decor is basic. -Wine was pretty decent. -Bread was ho-rri-ble. This is what I would serve in jail. -Appetizers were OK: salmon carpaccio was way too thick but fresh, the mint-and-honey pesto and the cheese slices had no business being on the same plate as the salmon but eaten separately, they were good. The mozzarella and tomato salad was edible. -The spinach-and-ricotta tortellini in pesto sauce were nasty: tortellini were the kind you can buy in the fresh aisle of your supermarket and cook at home for a quarter of the price. The pesto sauce was not a pesto sauce: it was a heavy cream sauce with basil in it (and olive oil for good measure, because, hey, you never know, it might be too light). And did I mention super salty? This is a swedenized version of pesto. No wonder the Swedish yelpers gave a 4.5 average to this restaurant. But if you are not Swedish I reckon you would not enjoy this restaurant.
I would give this place no stars, but you can't do that on Yelp. My sweetheart and I were excited to try this place, but we got up and left after being completely ignored by the wait staff. Shame on the gentleman waiter with a beard who turned his back on me when I waived to get his attention. I had to get up out of my chair to walk over to the waiters who were hanging out at the front of the restaurant, and the gentleman bearded waiter saw me coming over and walked away from me. I cornered a pretty girl waiter and asked her if she would take our order and she looked so uncomfortable and weirdly annoyed. We gave her our order, but after being made to feel so unwelcome, my sweetheart and I told her to cancel our order and left. I won't be telling my Swedish foodie friends to try this place. Instead, we went to Cafe Baresso, which is right up the street, and had the most delicious meal at a fraction of the price and we were treated with kindness and consideration.
