Table had crumbs all over it. Then after 20 minutes we had to flag down a waiter to order wine. Then we waited 15 minutes to get wine. Then we had to flag another waiter down to ask for bread and to be able to order. That waiter didn't respond, so we flagged down the manager. It was really disappointing. All together, about 35-40 minutes expired between when we entered the restaurant and were served ANYTHING.
Brx used to be a quiet spot for a nice dinner. Lately, they've been having large groups and there's no private room so it's so noisy. The first time it was a Little League team dinner with kids running all over. Last night they had wine tasting. I like their new ideas but they need a private room for these events.
Love Brix and want all local business to succeed so this is pursuant to that. Service was prompt and Isaac was courteous. Asked for fried oysters which were not on the menu and got them excellent by the way. Asked to sub broccoli for asparagus and got asparagus. Asked for bread and it never came we had to remind them and actually got it after the meal was finished. Careless mistakes but not what patrons would expect from a top restaurant. We will be back and hope these comments are helpful.
Jazz night! Brx is our family's neighborhood restaurant and an absolute favorite. The food is always the best, the staff is amazing and the new owners are experimenting with some great events.
If Cheers was a restaurant instead of a bar, this is what it would look like. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. Menu was imaginative and extensive. Portions were generous meaning take home boxes. Prices were more than fair. Great wine list. We will definitely be back.
