We went to the glen in stittsville on our way to home from a day of shopping and touring around ottawa for the 14th birthday of my daughter. it was my first time, but the second of my wife and daughter. my daughter smokes over the neeps and. my wife loves the Cajun redfish. to explain neeps for those who do not know what it is; they are carrots and turnip, not rutabaga together with butter crushed. so back to review the food. the neeps were as good as my daughter described them, very tasty and the cajun bleached fish was perfectly cooked with the fish that was flaky and the brot crispy. it was not as shy as some put it cooking. as for the restaurant itself, the atmosphere was very family-friendly and beautifully decorated, had also tartan on the walls. Although it was very busy, we hadn't waited long. the personal was amazing, very friendly and professional. the food was delivered very quickly to the table and was hot spidered. the whole experience was the best and we recommend the glen for a great meal.
I've checked this restaurant before, but it deserves an update. even if all restaurants are short staff of the service of heather was first class. interesting, smiling, friendly, but not intrusive. this is the only restaurant I found that serves a...seen fishtaco with sides. very taco, which is why I always return.
I am not someone who typically enjoys eating out, but I occasionally agree to go with my partner. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by our experience at this pub. I have a soft spot for fish tacos, but it's rare to find them made without batter. Luckily, this place was a winner in that department. I also thoroughly enjoyed the fries, and my partner was pleased with his fish, fries, and onion rings as well. To top it off, our meals were complemented perfectly by ice-cold beers. Our server, Heather, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and it was evident that she enjoys her job. I highly recommend this spot.
Nothing else to say. Traditional and authentic fish and chips. The chips are hand cut. The real thing. Service is fast as it should be for fish and chips. Always fresh and ready to fry. Plus the Guiness pint. I've been there: 2 times. Portion:...Fair. Service: Good and fast for fish. Live music: No. Busy: Yes. Family friendly? Yes. Drinks: Scottish pints. Would I go back? Always.
