I originally reviewed this restaurant under the hotel, but to summarize, we ordered the salmon and Diamond Filet. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We started with a loaf of bread as an appetizer, and it was served warm and crispy with a side of scrum.
Everything we ordered was outstanding. The lamb I had was the best I have ever tasted. Even my husband, who doesn't usually like lamb, enjoyed a bite. The hostess explained how the lush green pastures where the lamb was raised made a big difference in taste compared to the US, where large-scale agriculture dominates. The haddock my husband ordered was cooked perfectly both times we dined there. The sticky toffee pudding, a new dessert for us, was also the best we had ever tried. Despite trying pricier restaurants during our three-week trip, these meals were the most memorable.
Food was good and interesting ambience in the old dungeons. Smoked haddock excellent as was the steak and enjoyed the Malbec. Desert slightly disappointing though. Reasonably priced.
