Militärkantine St.Gallen AG

Heard a lot about this restaurant and finally we got there for thursday lunch......we arrived circa and left circa ...by this very fact you can see we liked the place!......the food was very good indeed ....well presented ...we had the course menu.. with meat' ....(menu without meat is francs cheaper ....delicious indeed....a few beers to drink....locally brewed.... all in all a most enjoyable reunion ...especially the post prandial chat with staff members maya and claudia! ...will definitely return ...on a sunny day when we can take advantage of the terrace overlooking the park......and i expect we shall linger even longer over the beers.....

Really busy and atmospheric place to enjoy a beer either inside or out. I have also dined here and the meal, especially the meat, was excellent.

Dont come here to watch the football games. they have old mini tv on the back yard, its a joke! half of the tv screen is black

The hotel is a little bit away from the city center and therefore very calm. The style is nostalgic (swiss army). The rooms are big and clean. You don't have tv in this hotel you get an ipad, which i like. In addition the soap...is special. It is a miniature edition of the hotel, which is quite fancy. For breakfast you don't have a buffet. You can order things from the breakfast menu. In my opinion this idea could be great but there weren't enough people to serve and prepare the breakfast. So i ended up by just getting one little cup of coffee and the food from the first order (bread, ham, peperoni, jam, cheese) but my second order (birchermuesli and some fruits) never arrived. The quality of the food is good. I would visit the hotel again but i would schedule much more time for breakfast (or make only one big order at the beginning).

We ate in the garden, love the atmosphere, cool and easy. Food was delicious and service utterly professional and friendly. A place you want to go back.
