Soul Of Detroit - Sterling Heights

The ambience of the restaurant is pleasant, but the prices are on the higher side. The food was satisfactory, but we were hoping for better quality. We ordered five wings but only received four initially. After bringing this to the waiter's attention, we were given the fifth wing, which was smaller than expected. Our server filled out the survey on their tablet, giving a high rating on our behalf. We had high hopes for this dining experience but unfortunately were left feeling disappointed.

My fiancé took both me and her dad to this restaurant for Father's Day. There was a party going on, which ended up running late. We had a reservation for 4:30, but arrived early and were the third group to be seated. The bartender eventually came over to take our order. After waiting until 6:30, we inquired about our food and the waitress said she would check. We were surprised to find out that our order had been forgotten at the bar, so we asked about the gentleman who took our order and were told he had left. Our food finally arrived around 7pm. Despite the wait, the food was delicious and the entertainment was enjoyable.

After being seated, we waited another 45 minutes for service, water, and to place our order, but no one came to our table. After over an hour and 20 minutes in the restaurant, I noticed that no one in the entire establishment had food in front of them or was eating. The waitstaff kept informing other patrons that they were out of various menu items. It was incomprehensible that they were out of food and yet no one had any food at their tables. In the end, we decided to leave the restaurant. It was truly the worst dining experience I have ever had. To make matters worse, the restaurant charged a $10 per person fee to pay for the band, which was absolutely ridiculous.

My 1st visit here, probably my last. My plate alone was almost $40 and the portions are very small. Still left hungry small lol The food is okay The customer service definitely could be improved, the ladies restroom had no tissue in the stall and it wasnot busy at all when I went maybe 4-5 ppl in there.

Great staff, shout out to T. Collard greens were cooked perfectly. Mmm, and that cornbread!Band/open mic was cool. Laid back atmosphere. Hidden gem here.
