Hong Kong Restaurant - Stephenville

On Saturday August while site seeing in Stephenville my wife and I stopped to order Chinese Food at Hong Kong Restaurant situated at Main Street in Stephenville, NFLD. We ordered two One Ton Soups and a Combination Plate. There were only...three other people when we arrived at the restaurant, but we waited near the kitchen for about twenty minutes before we got our order. We both found it to be a little greasy and not as tasty as our own favorite restaurant here in Ottawa. Hong Kong Restaurant Stephenville is old and dated and needs to be revamped, there is not much ambiance as it is the open concept of the I would not recommend Hong Kong Restaurant if in Stephenville and would give it a three out of five stars.

Best chinese in town ! Sunlock , another chinese restaurant, is across the road is also very good, but I prefer the chicken balls from Hong Kong, they are bigger and more tasty. Lee's is also decent, with good prices. I prefer sunlock for their...canadian food over their chinese food. But do realize , all the chicken balls are deep fried at each of these restaurants, so it won't be the healthiest for you. The stir fry is decent but may be high in salt, maybe you could ask for no sauce.. If you are looking for a healthy choice at Hong Kong, try their turkey sandwich and substitute the fries for cooked brocolli and carrots

We dropped by for dinner and the first thing we noticed was how friendly the couple who served us where. Smiles from the beginning and allowed our granddaughter substitutions on her order . Quick service and the food was ok. Waved goodbye to us when...we left.

There were only three other people in the restaurant when we arrived at the Hong Kong. We waited about ten minutes before we were greeted by the waitress. It also seemed like a long time waiting for our food once it was ordered compared to...the Sun Luck restaurant which is just across the street but for some reason it was closed. We had the Hong Kong platter. Very generous portion. We both found it to be a little greasy but not bad. It was a great price plus tax per person. Not much ambiance as it is open concept and quite small. I would recommend the Sun Luck over the Hong Kong when it is open.

Great food. Very clean. Good staff. Great prices. Nice place to go for Chinese food..or Canadian. large helpings.
