They've turned what was once a charming sit-down bar and grill into a place that feels more like a fast food joint. Now, you have to pick up your own menus, find your own seat (if there's a table available), look over the menu, and then go back to the counter to place your order—running the risk of losing your seat in the process. You also have to serve yourself drinks, all while paying prices that are typical for a full-service restaurant. If we’re doing half the work, the prices shouldn’t reflect a sit-down experience. I was really disappointed with these changes under the new ownership; it’s just ridiculous. To make matters worse, we had to wait a long time for the kids' menus, which is far from ideal for families.

The atmosphere was enjoyable, but I found it a bit odd to sit down with a menu only to have to get up to grab my own drinks and figure out the ordering process. The hostess did explain how it works, but it would have been more convenient if she could have taken my drink order instead. I don't quite understand why customers are expected to seat themselves and then hunt for the order station in the back. Most of the food was decent, but my wings were dry and overcooked. Furthermore, the name is a little peculiar; "Shooter’s" sounds more like a bar, and adding "Scratch Kitchen" leaves you curious about what kind of place they really want to be. I hope they can make some improvements soon.

Save your money. We used to love this restaurant a few years back, but after returning to town recently, we were really disappointed by our visit. It seems there's new ownership. We ordered gator bites and fries as an appetizer, and they were overcooked. My husband's steak was seared only on one side, and his baked potato was rock-hard. A friendly server checked on us, and when we brought up the problems, she had them remake the potato—only for it to come out just as hard again. We were quite let down. Additionally, I found the lack of table service frustrating, especially since the prices still suggest a full-service experience. I'm fine with a self-serve approach, but the atmosphere and pricing should match that style.

The food was absolutely amazing!! The gentleman that greeted us gave us a sample of the Cajun sauce and toured the menu for us. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very professional and friendly. I was taken back a bit by going up to a booth to order and getting your own drinks and silverware, etc. However it doesn’t take away from the great food, employees, and establishment.

Fantastic food relaxed atmosphere and excellent service LAST YEAR ... not consistent at all? Do not expect service from anyone when they are ready to leave two hours before closing?! So sorry you disappointed me!Food has gone down hill like crazy. Just go to Walmart get some crab cakes and cook em at home. Mine were awful the second visit.
