Had a lovely lunch in a very old fashioned house- which apparently is haunted. The story of this is on the menu. They have lots of options for lunch or dinner and serves breakfast pretty much all day. We started with the garlic bread which is very cheesy for sure. My husband had their house special which is the pork roast- seriously delicious and a huge serving. 3 thick slices of pork roast on top of a scoop of stuffing, lots of gravy which is the best gravy I've ever had, served with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. This was also served with your choice of soup or salad to start. I had the "lighter" menu which was a Caesar salad and the lemon pepper chicken schnitzel. Although it looked like a lighter meal, I was so full. The Caesar dressing is house made and very good. Schnitzel was good but the pork roast was awesome, will order that next time, and the turkey clubs looked great all roasted turkey. We were so full we couldn't try the apple crisp which apparently is very good as well. Service was very good and so attentive and friendly.Definitely going back to try everything on their menu!
We dropped into Mylar and Loreta's when returning from a shopping trip. The atmosphere is quaint and charming and the service was very pleasant and helpful. For starters, we had a garden salad, spinach salad and a corn chowder. All were fresh and tasty. The house rolls were terrific. My wife and I had the evening special which was an English cut roast beef. It was tender and a very generous portion. It was served with mashed potatoes, vegetables and horse radish. Our broccoli was a little al dente for our liking but the rest of the meal had a home cooked feel to it. My daughter had the house roast pork, again a very generous serving and the pork was tender and flavourful. If you are looking for a home style meal that is reasonably priced, Mylar and Loreta's should fit the bill.
Groupd gathering of 4 people, we all had different dishes and all were good! Friendly Staff. Very opular for sunday roast dinners especially in winter time. Frequented by snow mobilers in winter. Old building with a history. Nice ambience.
That is it really, a very pleasant family atmosphere with home cooked style meals at a decent price.
We stopped in last night on our way home after spending 10 hours in the car. We had only been in here once many, many years agoWe were tired and hungry, we both had the roast pork and a couple glasses of wine. Nothing was over the top spectacular but was perfect for the evening. Food was delicious, service was very good and we decided we need to come back more often!
