Risto's Place - Statesville

I visited Risto based on the recommendation of a friend who had lunch there. The staff gave us a warm welcome and provided attentive service during our dinner. When I made a reservation for my birthday, the booking form asked if it was a special occasion and I was congratulated by the server, but I was disappointed that nothing was done to make it special. A small gesture like a brownie or a cup of ice cream would have been appreciated. This could have led to more dessert orders from our group. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was unremarkable and came with just a few fries. My husband had the steak sandwich and felt the same way about his meal. The menu is limited, so it's best to check it online before going. The atmosphere was initially relaxed and allowed for conversation, but a band started playing loudly towards the end of our meal, making it difficult to enjoy. It was time for us to leave.

The food and service were excellent. We were promptly greeted and seated upon arrival. Our server was knowledgeable about the specials and provided great recommendations. From the delicious Bruschetta appetizer to the incredible carrot cake, the entire dining experience was truly exceptional.

I really enjoyed the restaurant and the food was fantastic. The only downside was Barb, our server, who tried to convince us that everything on the menu was delicious. I would have preferred to make my own choices.

Staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was brilliant in an old building in downtown Statesville.

Food was excellent. Great atmosphere and staff. Excellent deserts as well.
