The atmosphere in this historic hotel is charming, the service was excellent, and the food was expertly prepared. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, which we thoroughly enjoyed trying. I would definitely return and highly recommend saving room for their homemade desserts – they are absolutely incredible.
I made reservations for a party of 5 for a weekend with my parents and family, and we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel lobby was stunning, and the restaurant had interesting paintings of celebrities on the walls that sparked great conversation. The food was delicious - my chicken Marsala was fantastic and I also tried my daughter's braised short rib ravioli, which was amazing. We will definitely be returning!
The experience at this restaurant was incredible! The service, wine, food, and ambiance were all fantastic. We enjoyed a glass of local Pinot Grigio and Malbec, as well as a mushroom appetizer, generous salads, warm bread with whipped butter, and our main courses. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the steak and salmon, which were all delicious and served in large portions at a reasonable price. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant while in State College!
It's tough (and arguably unfair) to write a review for a restaurant I didn't eat at. I get that State College closes down when the students aren't around. But it's not Christmas eve, it's not Thanksgiving, it's Tuesday December 21 and I tried to eat dinner at 7:00. I checked the website and menu before coming (I saw no indication the restaurant wasn't open). I had a friend meet me there. It was closed and I am very annoyed. Had dinner here with my friend and his family and for a hotel restaurant, the food was delicious. I got the steak, which was well prepared, but nothing special. BUT, my friend ordered the lamb chops and they were phenomenal. Up to this point, I had never eaten lamb (how could you eat such a cute face! , but my friend urged me to try his dish. Mind you this was a my first time to eat lamb and b my first time to eat meat prepared RARE...I mean that thing was like still bah'ing rare, but wow, it was so delicately and well prepared. Dipped in a little bit of the mint sauce, the meat melted on lingual contact, titillating my tastebuds with an array of sensations. Ambience was pretty standard and I don't remember anything else about the dinner, but YUM for the lamb chops. One star missing for the average (but expensive steak.
