Famous Ernie's Steaks - State College

This is the best cheesesteak in Centre County, and possibly in all of Central PA. You have to get it with just onions and Cheez Whiz—nothing else!

The cheesesteak was disappointing. The meat was mushy and there was far too much oil.

They make very good cheesesteaks! I see other people comment on them being very salty which I find to be true if you get cheese wiz. Their cheesesteak with American cheese is where it?s at! Will definitely be back!

Don't bother trying to order takeout over the phone. They've recently changed their policy and will only serve you if you're in person at the restaurant. It seems that the only customers they care about are students, completely ignoring the local residents who have dined there for years.

YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BEAVER BURGER!! The egg roll is also amazing—highly recommend it! I just graduated, and this is definitely one of my favorite late-night food spots! I can't wait to come back next year for another fantastic meal from Ernie's! Love you all!
