Andaman Thai - Starkville

$46 for 2 people 2 thai teas, 2 noodle entrees, and small soup. I got the tom kha soup because I was still hungry after the noodle dish. As others have mentioned, VERY small portions for the price(for which I subtracted a star), but the taste and quality were EXCELLENT for what we ordered. They understand perfect spice, too. My boyfriend prefers mild I went for 2/10 level Thai hot and it was LOVELY not just some crushed red peppers mixed in ornon top. For context (not to sound pretentious) I grewnup eating Southeast Asian food have eaten Thai around the world, including Thailand. I had low hopes for something in Starkville but was very pleasantly surprised!

Everytime I come to Starkville, I have to have a meal at Andaman. Stellar Thai food hidden in plain sight. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. I've never had a bad meal or dish here and the portions are generous. I always have to start with a bowl of Tom kha soup. The coconut isnt overwhelming and it's not overly sweet like some can be. The Thai fried rice, chu chee curry (GET THE CRISPY DUCK), the pad Thai, pad see ew, and drunken noodles are all great options. If you think you hate tofu, try their lime or crispy tofu. Both are amazing options but i love the lime tofu because it comes as a lettuce wrap topped with crispy noodles. The spicy edamame is also great. We also order the chicken satay, the chicken wings (perfectly crispy), and the crab Rangoon. I'm telling you, everything is good. My favorite place in Starkville, hands down.

Good food but bad service! I ordered food from here, once I got home I checked and they had gotten my order wrong. No biggy, I try a single bite of it to see if I can suck it up, and it just was not what I wanted at all. So I call and ask if I can get it fixed even if I took a bite. They say if I bring the food back I can get it replaced. So I do that and once I get there they REFUSE to replace the food but are just fine with taking it. They say they tried to call me back to tell me this but I have no evidence of this. We spoke to the owner and he is the one who told us we could not return after literally asking us to return the food. Ridiculous to mess an order up and then make someone PAY if they want it fixed. We were not rude or unkind whatsoever and have frequented this restaurant for years. Sadly this is not the first time they have acted so weird when it comes to returning things they messed up. After this happening again we will not be back.

One of my favorite restaurants in town! The food never disappoints and it’s the perfect level of spice and very authentic! The yellow curry medium is 10/10?

There was only one person at the front, and they completely ignored us. We waited for 10 minutes without receiving any attention at all. The staff member didn't even notice when we decided to leave. It's time to step up your service.
