Village Sweet Shop - Star City

I recently had an unpleasant dining experience at this restaurant. Despite hearing good things about it, it was one of the worst experiences I have had in a long time. When we made reservations, we were not informed that the steakhouse was closed. We had trouble finding the location, as the only identifying point was a "blue door". After placing our orders, we were informed that some of our choices were unavailable. The kitchen and waitstaff should have communicated this ahead of time. Our salads took a long time to be served, and our steaks were all cold, regardless of the requested cooking temperature. Some steaks were undercooked, while others were overcooked. We had missing sides, two meals were inedible, and two meals had to be taken home to be cooked properly. Despite these issues, we were charged for the full price of our meal, plus a fee for using a card. Our waitress's response to our complaints was unsatisfactory.

The restaurant is good for steaks, but not much else. The other dishes we tried were bland, and even their homemade BBQ sauce just tasted like sugar. The customer service was excellent, the drinks were always full, and the steak was delicious. However, the side salad was small, and the green beans seemed to be from a can or frozen bag. The mac and cheese lacked cheese flavor and tasted more like buttered noodles. Overall, the lack of flavor did not justify the high price.

Hands down the best steaks in Arkansas! If you haven’t been here to try a steak, you are doing yourself an injustice! Trust me when I say these are mouth watering pieces of pure heaven in your mouth. I eat steak weekly, and their porterhouse is unrivaled.
