Restaurant Le Rio - St-Sauveur

We've been dining in this town for years and had never tried this one. We did (last night) on the basis of its' #1 rating on TripAdvisor. It was the first & last time we'll go. The rack of ribs was sticky, overly sweet, & molasses-like in texture. The chips were o.k. The house salad was plain & ordinary. The Diet Coke was fine. The service was very slow and we sat for 10 minutes before anyone noticed we had finished. Cost was CDN$85 for two-no apps, no dessert, no coffee. There are many better places to eat in town for the same money.

Simply the best ribs we've ever had ! Place is legendary in the Laurentians for ribs. I believe the owner has passed away recently, haven't been there since, but I assume the family knows the secret recipe.

Okay ribs, sub-par fries, friendly but uninformed, inexperienced staff. I asked for a dry martini, and I got a glass of vermouth. The outside terrace is comfy on Saint-Sau's main drag.

My second meal at this restaurant and the service and the food was excellent on both occasions. We sat on the terrace and when rain started they easily moved us inside.
