They have no more servers, only people working in the kitchen. You have to order at a machine. When we got home there where somany mistakes on our order it wasn?t even funny, but too late to complain. You can?t even read the order and make itright??? You?ve lost a good customer for a while. Get it back to the way Gus Belt created it!!! He would turn himself around inhis grave if he would see what happened to his restaurants.
It?s been years since I?ve been to this location and I was nervous after reading the reviews. I had a great pickup experience everyone was happy with their burgers, shakes, and chili. I did curbside this time and the lady that brought my order out wasvery nice. Wish I could have gotten my birthday reward to work in the app for my shake but that?s my only complaint (and I knowthat?s an app issue, nothing to do with the location). Will definitely try to visit more often!
After sitting down, I was hoping to relax and have my food brought to me, especially since I had just seen my chiropractor for a bad back. However, my name was called for the milkshake I ordered, requiring me to get up and go to the counter. I then had to wait and get up a second time to retrieve my food. This was not the experience I was expecting from Steak n Shake, and I felt that the atmosphere I remembered had been ruined. It seems like a poor decision by corporate leaders who have lost touch with their customers. I doubt this new setup will be well-received by the usual crowd that frequents this establishment.
The restaurant has implemented a new business strategy that eliminates all servers. Customers now order their food at a kiosk and pick it up when their name is called. The restaurant is incredibly clean, possibly the cleanest I have ever seen, including the kitchen. The menu has been simplified to primarily feature burgers, but the milkshakes are still amazing. I really enjoyed the new environment.
I first tried this restaurant during college in Ohio, where there were limited dining options. I loved the classic wax paper wrap that the food came in. The garlic burger was tasty but a bit greasy, and the Monte Cristo sandwich was decent for when you have a craving. The portions were so big that I couldn't finish it all in one sitting - it was very filling. If you're looking for a more upscale Shake Shack or Culver's experience, this might not be the place for you. However, it's definitely better than Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's, etc. It's a great spot for some cheap, classic fast food when you're craving a late-night snack. And they have delicious cheese fries!
