Sidney was the best server we have ever had. She engaged us in meaningful conversation, was very knowledgeable about the wine menu, and helped us choose the perfect meal. Chef Jeff even surprised us with some off-menu bites! Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant, 10 out of 10.
My wife and I just visited this restaurant after accumulating extremely high hopes. The chef owner is allegedly an iron chef winner, which accredits him to bring the “best of the best”. This food was below average at best. The dumplings were mushy in a sodium packed sauce. The bao bun was soo full of cumin it was hardly edible. On to the main courses. The wok snapper while the fish was tasty I found 5 bones in my less than 6 oz filet. The “starch” that accompanied was so stale and salty they shouldn’t have even been on the plate. The “starch” ruined the whole dish. It was supposed to be a crispy bottom of the pan crispy rice but it was neither crispy nor flavorful. The only seasoning it had was excessive salt and it was hardly crispy. Try three day old rice that has sat out. My wife had the man lo noodles and those were just simply atrocious. While the actual noodles themselves were cooked to perfection the sauce was just out right horrendous. It was a flavorless salt punch to the face. It screamed canned Chinese sauce. The only thing that might save this restaurant was the all star service we received. The server offered many selections of the menu, although terrible, she knew the menu in and out. She was constantly checking on us for drink refills and to see if we needed anything.Definitely a great place for drinks , but the food is subpar at best and will leave you hungry and with a headache from all the sodium.
Celebrated a birthday at Lingr and had the most engaging food, drink, and friends experience ever. Every person that works there is knowledgeable about the menu. When the food is delivered it’s not auctioned they know exactly what plate goes where, the complexity of their craft cocktails was superb. Their online menu does not display prices but don’t let that detour your decision. The value proposition is there. We had 4 people and our bill was just under $300. We had several shared plates, a couple of cocktails, a bottle of wine and 4 entrées. The ambiance was relaxing and the seating was very comfortable. Oh and dessert. Please get dessert. #yolo
HIGHLY recommend! One of the best in St. Petersburg. An excellent and artful fusion of Cantonese Norwegian cuisine. We got the Earth and Wood drinks (both excellent for cocktails. We started with the Sami bread, which I highly recommend. The cheesy richness balanced with the spice of chili oil seamlessly the mushrooms were perfection. Our starters were the wok-fried red snapper the mapo noodles, which I can’t rave enough about. We will definitely be visiting again!
Came to Lingr last night while visiting family in FL, and it was some of the best food we have ever had! The table split the fish cakes and bao, and individually we had the chicken, koji aged ribeye, and the grouper. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was fantastic, lively enough to enjoy but quiet enough to hear each other at the table no problem. The tea and drink selection was also fantastic. My only complaint is that Chef Jeffrey Jew doesn't own a restaurant closer to where I live in Connecticut! Next time we visit we will definitely come back! Also note- the restaurant was clean and the staff wore masks. Overall an unforgettable experience.
