The food is slowly cooked, boasting authentic flavors at great prices with generous portions. We highly recommend supporting this local gem! We tried the mofongo, picadillo, plantains, and ham croquettes, and everything was fantastic.
The restaurant is misrepresented in their listings. On Google, they share the same phone number and address as Pipo's Cuban Cafe, which I love and find fantastic. However, the website correctly lists them as Pepo Cuban, and unfortunately, they do not live up to expectations. I'll post a picture of my meal to illustrate. A proper Cuban meal should include generous portions of roasted pork with every few bites. Both my colleagues and I, who I had convinced to try this spot based on my positive experiences at Pipo's, were left disappointed at lunch. There was barely a sliver of pork, and the empanadas were incredibly thin. I’m not asking for a refund or anything, just sharing my experience!
What a fantastic breakfast experience! The front desk staff at the Hilton recommended this place, and I'm so glad they did. The team at Pepo is incredibly friendly and attentive. During my visit to St. Pete, I ended up having breakfast here every day. Both the café con leche and the omelets (definitely try the chorizo) are on par with Miami standards. The guava pastlitos are also delicious. There’s ample parking, and the covered terrace was perfect for bringing our dog along. My cousin even had lunch at Pepo’s after we left and raved about it. You can't go wrong—just check it out on Google!
Eating was amazing, better than some I had in miami. If I ever were in the opposite, I would go back here!
Have been here under prior ownership. Was good then. Today, will not be returning. Food undercooked even after second trip to kitchen. Check photo of hash browns after sent back to kitchen. No cheddar cheese. Not clean. Definitely a pass. I eat in a lot of dives. This one is a no go.
