The stay was nice. I enjoyed the convenience of staying in downtown St. Louis in the heart of the city. I came in town for Thanksgiving with family from New Jersey. I would 've given the stay 4 stars, but we had some complications during our long stay. The only downside to the stay was the racism/prejudice that my family and I experienced while in this establishment particularly the downstairs bar and restaurant. Jake was not kind at all and threw menus at us then made a comment stating So you don 't want to sit at the bar? Additionally, another employee stated We 'll be fine. alluding that she didn 't need our business. Otherwise, Miles, Maurice, and Antoinette were all amazing servers and very kind people during our entire stay. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
We often stay with the moonrise when we visit our children who are in college in stl. we have always enjoyed everything about the hotel, but we are aware of the weekends. the roofable and non-hotel guests take over at the weekend. parking becomes a big problem in the hotel and the valet service works on a priority basis to park cars at limited safe locations. I was actually in my car on del mar for 10-15 minutes trying to turn into the hotel while the valet jockey non-guest cars around. the valet pushes as many high-end cars in the possession of bar-parantia into the front drive as possible, so the situation is dangerous and extremely uncomfortable for hotel guests, but very profitable for the valet.
Such a pretty venue and a lovely space to host a gathering. I just love the rooftop for its amazing views of St. Louis. The hotel itself is really beautiful from the outside and is very clean inside.
We really enjoyed our mini-honeymoon stay here. The employees at the counter were very friendly, and there was plenty of parking in the lot that we never had to pay for the valet. The decor in the lobby is beautiful, as was the decor in the room itself. The room was very clean and lovely. The bathroom looked newly remodeled with a modern sink and standing shower and fantastic shower head that was installed in the ceiling. (They had a shower cap since it was hard to use the shower without getting your hair wet. The Aveda products in the bathroom were great quality, and I appreciated that they also had a makeup removing wipe available. The robe was warm and comfortable, and I am strongly debating going back to the lobby shop to purchase one for my home. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable, and I slept much better on them than on my own at home, which has never happened at a hotel before. The two layers of blinds/curtains also kept the light out when the sun rose, so that we could actually sleep in. The location is optimal for sight seeing and foodie explorations.
