Raku Sushi - West End - St. Louis Park

Beautiful environment inside with deepened seating Japanese style and the fish was amazing and fresh. the escolar super white thunfish is unrealistic. try it is like nigiri or in a roll. it's the most tasteful fish I've ever had.

This restaurant at the west end a year or two years ago found and are here a few times. we always had a decent meal and experience here. good happy hour specials.

I have come here many times with family and friends, and the food has always been fantastic. It’s been a place of comfort for me. The servers are also wonderful and welcoming. I would normally rate such a place as 5 stars easily.However, this review is one star because of our experience tonight. A woman not a server but one who seemed affiliated with the restaurant because she walked behind the bar in employee areas approached us and snidely said, “it’s so rude to sit in a restaurant after closing.” This baffled myself and my friends because it was about 10:40 PM, and the restaurant’s hours were until 11 PM according to the sign on the door of the place, and it even said they were open until midnight on the website. Additionally, nobody told us that the restaurant was apparently closed, contrary to the information available to us.As I said, we were very confused but promptly left with a sour taste in our mouths. As we were walking out of the restaurant, this woman, now sitting at the bar and presumably intoxicated, starts loudly CLAPPING and ridiculing us. This was a profoundly immature and ridiculous display, and we will have to think twice about coming back if that’s how people are treated.

This was my first time dining at Raku. Very casual atmosphere in the trendy West End shopping area. I started with a sake flight and avocado salad. I'm not a raw fish sushi lover so I went for the sweet potato tempura roll and it was delicious. Prices are very reasonable for a sushi joint. Everything was freshly prepared and the service was great. After dinner there's plenty of bars and shops within walking distance if you want to wander around. Miss this area of the Twin Cities. We'll be back when winter is gone!

Choose this place because it says that they had a happy hour to 6 and I had traveled to sushi. Once I'm here, the server said that happy hour ended at 5 and that the website is not correct, they can't change the website. the service was initially a little pushy and wanted to order us immediately as if they were super busy and had to turn the table. we do not order c6an quickly and so we ordered a few appetizers and drinks. the server wanted us to order regular meals, but we just want to order and talk drinks. after a night the terrace was busy and we had time to talk. the server was nice, but too attentive. the rolls were good, but after a few bites they all tasted the same taste. the tuna dumpling was tasteful and beautiful presentation. the speck wrapped garnel was ok. the duck meat early rolls were unexpectedly delicious and good with the hoisin sauce. overall, ok experience. I prefer the Edina location.
