The owner stopped by our table several times and checked on us he even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne since we are on honeymoon. We ordered the seafood chowder as a starter but I honestly would have eaten a bucket of the stuff as a main course. The seafood platter for two was our main and it was amazing. Everything was perfectly done and well flavored, we didn't get enough tartar sauce for the food but it ended up not mattering since every aspect of the platter was so good on its own. We would definitely recommend this place and go back if we ever have the chance.
Yummy Yummy Yummy!! For fresh seafood...this is where you go! Small restaurant located at the harbor. Eat great seafood while watching the fishing trawlers get ready to go out to sea. We had a seafood platter for 2...it was huge!
Decor very fitting for a restuarant on the port .I had the peri peri chicken Mozambique style it was really awesome .Others st the table had calamari which was the local caught squid . Others had the hake Both were really good.Well worth a visit and a view of a working harbour !!
Chokka Block has got a new owner in Clive. We have frequented this establishment many times over the past 15 years and is still blown away by the view of the harbour and surrounds. The new additions to the menu are well thought out and adds to the wide selection the peri peri chicken is prepared according to a special recipe resulting in a very succulent but fiery bird, with the seafood chowder deserving a special mention.
Chokka Block is a longstanding favourite restaurant of mine. Somewhat dated interior but a spectacular view over St Francis Bay harbour.Fish and Calamari are my favourites. The prawn cocktail with 'special ' pink sauce is best to be avoided. Also the Tartare sauce could taste so much better. That said, I still love to eat there look forward to next time :
