The Kilt And Clover - St. Catharines

Julia is an outstanding server—attentive and friendly. However, the menu is somewhat lackluster, lacking in good pub food and consisting mostly of American-style fried items that are greasy and bland, like nachos and other typical fare. Despite this, Julia's excellent service made the evening enjoyable for me and my male companion who was visiting from San.

I brought this to her attention, and she took it back to the kitchen. She returned and informed us that the kitchen admitted to “not even looking at the slip,” and they would make me a new burger. This was inconvenient for my partner, who was already enjoying his meal, but I thought it was manageable. However, she came back in under three minutes and told me, “the kitchen made it quick,” placing the same burger in front of me again. The sauce had been sloppily wiped off, but it was still all over the bread and the sides of the chicken breast, which was stained orange. Additionally, the server brought me the sauce I had requested, telling me to “put it on myself.” I then had to wait about five minutes for her to walk by again and pointed out, “this is evidently the same burger.” Her response was, “maybe he’s new.” The service was incredibly sloppy, and I noticed a manager or supervisor—someone I recognized since we frequent Kilt often—walk by several times without checking in or offering an apology for the mix-up. I was completely stunned by this experience. If I could give it zero stars, I absolutely would.

This is a fantastic pub! The nachos were incredibly tasty, and they offer a great variety of drinks, including cider on tap. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they didn't have the s'mores for two available, but I hope to try them on my next visit.

It's been quite a while since my last visit to the Kilt and Clover, as I now reside overseas. The owners have done an excellent job with the interior, creating a cozy pub atmosphere that makes everyone feel at ease. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. She made some great menu suggestions in a very positive manner. I rated the food 4 stars because while the appetizers were good, they didn't leave me in awe. To be fair, I should return to try the main courses. Overall, it's a charming place to gather with friends and enjoy each other's company. I would highly recommend it!

This is a fantastic restaurant right by the port. The ambiance is incredible, and the best part is that it's dog-friendly! You absolutely must try the Beef DIP; it's outstanding! My only critique—though I recognize it’s not entirely the restaurant's fault—is the presence of bugs and mosquitoes; it would be wonderful if there were a solution for that. However, the excellent service, great music, friendly staff, and delicious food more than make up for it!
