It is a winery so don't be surprised when you discover that to be the focal point. Not a typical winery, but more homegrown "fruit" wines. Like the ones your grandma used to make. In fact, this bistro has just that type of feel. It has a balance of nice refinements and that old flair that comes from an Eastern Europeon recipe book. The hosts were pleasant and friendly. Don't expect a big menu, and this wouldn't be condsidered a steak joint. But the food was fun and different. Had a go at the wine "tasting" selection and that was a pleasant surprise. If you are adventurous and open to new things this is worth the drive. By the way the roads are rough to get there.
Us co-workers decided to go here to celebrate a milestone and was an awesome choice. Terrific wine, food and dessert. The location is truly beautiful, service was wonderful. The prices are really reasonable and then you can go shopping for the wine. They even have fancy clothes such as ball gowns for a small rental charge that you can play dress-up. The scenery is amazing overlooking the river. Just a wonderful afternoon with wonderful friends.
Coming from Edmonton Alberta and on our way to Prince Albert we say the roadside sign for the Winery. We made out purchases and then of course the grandkids want McDonalds. Not us. We got them their treats and headed for the Winery. What a georgeous place We sat out on the patio which has a beautiful view of the river and the rolling hills. The food is outstanding. I highly recommend the chicken pie with broccoli soup. The Caesar salad is very good and the grandkids say the homemade punch is fantastic. We sampled the raspberry and medium drip cupid cherry wine. It was very good . We bought several bottles and also honeysuckle jam which is also very good
Enjoyed our evening. Good food nice wine choices. Great deserts. Try it worth the look. Our hosts seemed very friendly and accommodating.
Not too far out of the way but well worth the drive. The bistro building is so suitable for the surroundings. It overlooks the South Saskatchewan River and the many fruit trees used in the wine grow around it.Inside the bistro you will be impressed by the attractive dining area. The food is delicious and different. Local ingredients are used in most dishes. Besides the wine a delicious homemade fruit punch specialty coffees and tea are served. Service is excellent.
