Pho Dau Bo - St. Catharines

This place is specialized for non-authentic vietnamese food (esp. Pho) !Moreover ice coffee the Legend of vietnamese drink is Not authentically done from a filter but instant coffee. Too bad !

Portions are good but the service was poor. Went in for takeout and the person cashing me out added a 20% tip to my order so quickly I wouldn't have caught it if I wasn't watching the terminal. Disappointed that a portion of my money was stolen and I was not even asked if I would like to tip.

We tried to ordered hot filtered Vietnamese coffee 2x and both times got iced coffee. Also, the Pho was served with bean spouts that were going off. Bean sprouts are a common vector for food poisoning and should only be served fresh. In addition to this the broth of the Pho was lack luster. We enjoyed our time despite this and the other dishes were well received and enjoyed. The portions were large and I was happy they had rare beef soup. I tried sending this message privately via email but could not find an email option on their website for some odd reason... I do hope they can improve their operations.

The food is good. A little heavy on the msg side, but tasty nonetheless. Homemade chili sauce and chili oil are very nice. Well priced and generous portions, but not exactly the cleanest place. Using the washroom for the first time the other day blew my mind. The toilet and floor were disgusting. I hoped this was an anomaly, but the next time I used the restroom months later it looked the same. Must be the reason they keep it so dark in there. And looking around afterward, the rest of the floors don't look the cleanest either. Could be 5 stars if it were a little cleaner in there. Makes me question the conditions in the kitchen.

I’m a Vietnamese Canadian and I’ve eaten at this chain before. But I’ve never experienced this before. Food came out like it was microwaved or pan seared, not the usual grill cooked food I am used to. Service was poor, basically self serve as you look at the menu, write it down, call them over and pay at the front. Food came out looking light colored, barely cooked and tasted the same (the chicken and pork). I would not recommend this location at all. Avoid at all cost.
